Meghan Markle has been left “devastated” by a recent report which claimed her team once played around the idea of a post-Prince Harry divorce book with a publisher, an insider has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the focal point of Vanity Fair‘s latest cover story.
In the damning report, the outlet cited various sources who made a number of claims about the couple, including Montecito residents labelling them “local villains”, while it also included fresh allegations about Meghan’s behaviour towards staff.
But it also included a segment about a potential divorce book from Meghan, shortly after the Sussex couple moved to the US, after they stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.
According to the outlet, Meghan’s team allegedly had a conversation with a publishing house to “gauge interest” in the idea for such a book, which would allegedly focus on the couple’s divorce.
It claimed: “No offer was ever made, and no manuscript was produced. After all: There was no divorce.”
But while Vanity Fair made it clear that the publisher ever made no offer and even added that the couple are “deeply in love”, the report has left the duchess “increasingly frustrated” at the constant speculation regarding her relationship with the duke, reports OK!.
An insider close to Meghan told the outlet: “Meghan knows that the rumours always make their fans worry about a split, and she doesn’t like that sort of negativity being spread.
“Meghan was devastated when she saw all of these reports about a ‘post-divorce’ book coming out.
“She knows there’s no truth to them and it’s just upsetting for her to constantly have this negativity around them. She’s getting really sick and tired of all the split rumours.
“Everywhere she looks and reads there is something about her and Harry breaking up.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have declined to comment on the Vanity Fair article but sources close to them have revealed to the Times they find the claims “distressing”.
