New entertainment space opens in downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A new business has opened up in downtown Fort Wayne called “Pinhouse Social”, and it features a variety of drinks, food, and activities to keep you entertained.

One of the owners, Nate Newport, said this is something he and his business partner believed Fort Wayne has needed for a long time.

“Our whole thing was to create a space where people can be active and social. To see people in this space after all the hard work from our contractors and our team it’s remarkable, it’s really cool,” says Newport.

The activities include cornhole, bocce ball, darts, pinball, and duckpin bowling.

Given the name “Pinhouse Social”, duckpin is the main focus, and it works a bit different than regular bowling.

“The difference between duckpin bowling and regular bowling is you don’t have to have any special shoes, there’s different weighted balls, you just grab a smaller ball, and you step up and you throw so it’s very family friendly. All of our lanes are ADA access, and it just makes it a great environment for people to be active, social, and then hangout,” says Newport.

The General Manager of the Fairfield, Nicole Deerheimer, says she’s happy to finally reach this point.

“The journey has been, from start to finish hand selecting our team. We have a great culinary team and executive chef, an amazing bar team, and just getting a menu together, the design together, the concept, and making it the way we wanted to be was just perfection,” says Deerheimer.
