TV host and comedian Noel Fielding, known for his colourful love life, has recently sparked concerns for his health.
The 51-year-old star of The Mighty Boosh abruptly exited an Apple TV+ series mid-production, sparking concerns among Great British Bake Off executives about his availability to host their show.
His series, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, was cancelled over health issues during the festive season.
Fielding has not commented on these concerns and has been a familiar face on television for over two decades, appearing on The IT Crowd, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy.
Off-screen, he leads a tranquil life with his long-term partner and children, starkly contrasting his former rock ‘n’ roll image.
Fielding has been romantically involved with radio host and writer Lliana Bird for several years. The couple reportedly fell for each other in 2010 after Bird was featured in multiple episodes of The Mighty Boosh.
Much like Fielding, Bird – reputedly the longest-serving female DJ on Xfm/Radio X with 16 years on air – is highly creative.
The broadcaster and podcasting sensation has ventured into the literary world with her first children’s book, Babu the Unusual Bee. Her Rocket Bird Books profile highlights her involvement in filmmaking, including her acclaimed short film Snapshots.
Liliana, aged 42, and her partner Noel, are thought to reside in the leafy North London area of Highgate with their two daughters.
The duo celebrated the arrival of their eldest, Dali, a namesake tribute to Noel’s artistic idol Salvador Dali, in the spring of 2018 and welcomed their second daughter, Iggy, in August 2020.
On Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Lliana shared insights into their family dynamics and praised Noel for his enchanting approach to fatherhood.
Back in 2012, Noel and Pixie were allegedly seen sharing a kiss in a nightclub, sparking further rumours and reportedly leaving Noel’s then-partner at “the end of her tether”.
Before his rise to fame, Noel was in a committed relationship with Dee Plume, followed by brief romances with Courtney Love and The Kills’ lead singer Alison Mosshart. He is also rumoured to have been involved with Peaches Geldof, the late sister of Pixie Geldof.
The Evening Standard reported that Pixie, who is 17 years younger than Noel, was infatuated with him, having been seen gazing at him admiringly.
However, in 2019, the same publication claimed that the couple had ended their “on-off” romance, with Pixie allegedly being the one to call it off.
Despite this, Noel has consistently downplayed their relationship, stating at the Galaxy British Book Awards that they were merely friends.
As quoted by the Daily Star, Noel remarked, “These things are like fairytales, aren’t they? We’re just friends, that’s all. But you can’t be friends in this country without someone booking a church and trying to get you married.”
