Pamela said: “She’s so much fun. Such a champion for women, too. She took me by the shoulders and said, “I did this movie for you.
“I thought, That’s a woman’s woman. She’s been there, she’s reinvented herself time and again, and I think she saw that in me – that I wanted to do the same thing and [she] really supported me, which was incredible. I’m just so happy I got to do this.”
The Last Showgirl marks the latest chapter in Pamela Anderson’s career revival, which kicked off with her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in 2022.
After years of being recognized for her Baywatch role as CJ, her Playboy modeling, and the personal home video with ex-husband Tommy Lee that was stolen and leaked online, she revealed another facet of herself in the 2023 Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, where she discussed all aspects of her career and life.
While she resided in Los Angeles during her Playboy and Baywatch days, Pamela now lives with her parents in Ladysmith, the town on Vancouver Island where she was raised.
“My grandmother had this little auto court with nine cabins,” she shared in the Elle interview.
“I’m in the roadhouse right now, which used to be her general store, and she would serve tea in the little teahouse. It’s all connected. I wanted to come home to the place where the trees knew me since birth.”
