Penske Entertainment has assumed control of the promotion for IndyCar’s season-ending Nashville event, according to Racer.
Scott Borchetta’s promotions team had been responsible for the street race since it joined the schedule in 2021 and ensured the event stayed on the calendar last season when a reconfigured circuit proved unfeasible.
Initially, the new circuit was planned to take the cars down the famous Broadway. However, this shifted to the Nashville Superspeedway due to ongoing construction work around the new stadium for the National Football League’s (NFL) Tennessee Titans.
Borchetta signed a multi-year deal with Speedway Motorsports to move the season finale to an oval, which proved an overall success last year. But Penske Entertainment has now stepped in to take control, with Borchetta remaining attached to the event as a sponsor.
This follows a trend for the organisation as it looks to take more operational control of the races on the IndyCar calendar, having recently purchased the Grand Prix of Long Beach. Penske Entertainment is also behind the 2026 race at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and is in active conversations about a race in Denver for 2027.
Racer reports that an official update from IndyCar is pending on Penske acquiring the promotional rights to the Nashville event.
