Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have a number of A-listers whom they consider their friends. Two of them have previously opened up about their relationship with the Sussexes – but didn’t let slip how they met them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have long been associated with several big Hollywood names, including David and Victoria Beckham, Kris Jenner, Chrissy Teigen, Oprah Winfrey and Abigail Spencer.
George and Amal Clooney were among the 600 lucky guests attending the lavish royal wedding on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle.
Mr and Mrs Clooney were given seats for the special ceremony right next to Lady Carolyn Warren, the wife of the late Queen’s bloodstock adviser John Warren, and opposite Princess Margaret’s son, Viscount Linley.
The couple were quizzed about the ceremony several weeks later by the Access Hollywood host Scott Evans in a game of True or False.
While Mr Clooney was happy to answer questions about the wedding, he refused to spill how he knew the couple. He said: “I can’t tell you that…I am not allowed to.”
Mrs Clooney added: “We are really happy for the bride and groom. I think they are going to do great things in the world together.”
The book Finding Freedom by authors Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie includes details about the Clooneys and the Sussexes’ relationship.
In the book, the authors claimed that the Clooneys welcomed the Sussexes at least twice at their British home in Sonning, Oxfordshire.
The book claimed: “There, they had a secluded decked area and inside was a lounge decorated with traditional club wood panelling, heavy drapes, dark velvets, plush chairs, and a bar.”
Another account reportedly involved a trip to Lake Como. The book alleged: “Meghan and Amal spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool and playing with the twins while George and Harry checked out George’s motorbike collection. Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers. George recently had an accident, so he wasn’t back on his bike yet.”
“The duke and duchess weren’t the only guests that weekend. Eugenie and her fiance, Jack Brooksbank, were already at the villa when Harry and Meghan arrived, their visits overlapping briefly.”
