Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not responded to a scathing article published about them last week, with one source deeming this decision as “wise”.
In an article, titled Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Big Business Ambitions, 5 Years After Their Royal Exit, Vanity Fair have made several new claims about the pair – including further bullying allegations against Meghan and that Harry would be happy with his wife to be the one to “make all of the money for the family”.
Speaking about the couple, royal PR expert and former communications secretary to the late Queen, Ailsa Anderson claimed that the pair’s decision to not respond is likely down to the fact that they would “start adding fuel to the fire” if they were to do so.
Discussing the no response from Meghan and Harry, she told a recent episode of the podcast A Right Royal Podcast: “If you start adding fuel to the fire, then you’re just elongating a story.
“So, I think there are times to stand up and be counted, and there are times to say nothing.”
Speaking of the couple, she added: “I think actually they’re right. Just let it go and move forward. Otherwise, they’ll be creating a story, a further story of their own making.”
According to sources, Harry and Meghan were said to be feeling “bruised and upset” after seeing that such article had been published.
Speaking to Sky News Australia, royal expert Kinsey Schofield said: “It is my understanding that they are upset over it [and] I’m being told that things aren’t good for them right now… and here comes a very respected publication reiterating some of the nastiest claims about her.”
She added: “So I think they are bruised and they’re sitting back trying to figure out how to proces going forward.”
