KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC):
The Surrey Royals captured the Dream 11 T10 cricket title with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over the Surrey Risers in the final at Sabina Park on Saturday.
After being sent in to bat, the Risers wasted a glorious start from openers Sadique Henry and Orain Williams to be restricted to 86 for eight from their 10 overs.
Williams scored 35 from 25 balls and Henry made 24 from 16 balls before retiring hurt during a 63-run opening stand in under seven overs.
However, Khari Campbell took three for eight from his two overs, and Carlos Brown supported with two for 15, to spark a shocking collapse that saw the Risers lose four wickets without the addition of a run.
The Royals then made light work of their run chase, with West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith smashing 23 from just six balls to lead his side to 89 for two in 8.2 overs.
