Tom Welling, who is best known for his role as Clark Kent in Smallville, was arrested in an Arby’s parking lot.
Welling, 47, was taken into police custody on Monday, January 27, according to police records obtained by TMZ. The actor was detained and arrested in Yreka, California, by local police for allegedly driving under the influence. The report also indicated that Welling’s blood alcohol content was at or above the legal limit of .08%. The reason why the actor was in Yreka, which is in Northern California, remains a mystery.
The actor most recently shared a sweet birthday post on Instagram in honor of his wife Jessica Rose Lee Welling’s birthday on Sunday, January 26. The post consisted of a series of pictures that started with one of the pair on horseback. The posts’ caption read, “Happy Birthday to our Angel who makes our dreams come true and inspires us even more! We love you to the moon and back! @jessicarosewelling.” The actor also shared a couple of other pictures of his wife.
Welling and his equestrian wife, also 47, met while she was teaching him how to ride horses around 2013 and started dating in 2014. The couple announced that they were engaged in 2018 and tied the knot in November 2019 at a ceremony in Santa Ynez, California. They share two sons, Thomson, born in January 2019, and Rocklin, born in June 2021.
Tom played the DC hero for the entirety of Smallville, which ran from 2001 to 2011 for a total of 10 seasons and 217 episodes. He most recently reprised his role as Clark Kent in the CW’s massive crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths in 2020, where he was able to give fans a look at what his version of Superman looks like years after the end of the series.
