Trace Cyrus has revealed details on his father Billy Ray’s relationship with his youngest daughter.
The Take My Hands singer recently admitted he was “worried” about his dad after seeing his “disaster” gig at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Following his performance at the Liberty Ball, fans rushed to X to slam the star.
One wrote: “Billy Ray Cyrus, clearly lip-syncing, looks like he crawled out from under a bridge before this weak performance at Donald Trump‘s inaugural Liberty Ball. So embarrassing.”
Another responded: “I’m embarrassed for you @billyraycyrus please get help and stop drinking. This is a disgrace to our President and our country get off stage.”
A third questioned: “WTH just happened with Billy Ray Cyrus at the Liberty Inaugural Ball? [sic]”
Despite the tension between them, Trace admitted that both Noah and him “still idolize” Billy Ray.
Billy Ray and ex-wife, Tish, filed for divorce after almost 20 years together in 2022. The couple raised five children, including Grammy Award-winning singer Miley Cyrus, who has been the only one that has talked about their dad in recent years.
During an episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, she said he has given her this “map of what to do and what not to do.”
She went on: “My dad had a really rough childhood. And my childhood—I mean, we can go and talk about the hard times or the struggles—but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a beautiful big house and my dad didn’t have that.”
