The Foundation begins its series of concerts with a group of renowned and versatile musicians who offer a journey through various Mediterranean aesthetics, incorporating distinctive elements of their different musical styles and combining them in a jazz context.
Akdeniz is the brainchild of five musicians from very different styles, such as jazz, flamenco and oriental music, which they fuse to perfection with a repertoire of traditional Turkish music, performed by the great vocalist Iman Kandoussi.
The members of the group are Iman Kandoussi (vocals), Antonio Montiel (percussion), Chico Salto (double bass) Mario Pousada (ud), and Nacho Botonero (sax, flute and clarinet).
