New Delhi: Actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das has addressed the criticism directed at Coldplay concertgoers who claimed to be unfamiliar with the band’s songs. Taking to social media, Vir Das defended those criticised for their “lack of knowledge” of the band’s music. He called these comments “asinine” and stressed that everyone should be able to enjoy live music, regardless of how well they know the band’s lyrics.
“The number of asinine “bro, they don’t even know any Coldplay songs, they just showed up” posts I have seen. So? Good. Now they do. It’s lights, music, dancing, and fun. Everyone’s entitled to enjoy. You don’t have the monopoly on fun because you sobbed to yellow one time,” Vir Das posted on his X account.
