Kelly Clarkson<\/strong><\/a> has postponed her Las Vegas residency amid her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock<\/strong>\u2019s illness.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in LaReview Link<\/a>s Vegas,\u201d Clarkson, 43, announced via Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, August 6. \u201cWhile I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children\u2019s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, Clarkson launched her \u201cStudio Sessions\u201d shows at <\/span>The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. She recently brought daughter River Rose onstage<\/span><\/a> to perform the singer\u2019s 2015 hit \u201cHeartbeat Song.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The inaugural American Idol<\/i> champion married her former music manager in 2013. The exes welcomed River, 11, in 2014 and son Remington, 9, in 2016. <\/span>Clarkson filed for divorce<\/span><\/a> from Blackstock, 48, in 2020, finalizing the terms in 2022. She received <\/span>full primary custody and moved her brood to New York City, where she films her namesake talk show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was making<\/span><\/a> a horrible decision,\u201d she recalled to USA Today<\/i> in October 2023. \u201cI knew I needed a fresh start and couldn\u2019t be in L.A. I really wanted to be in Montana, but you can\u2019t really do a show from there quite yet. So I was like, \u2018The only other option would probably be New York.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Clarkson added, \u201cI genuinely love it, and I love that my kids love it. I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not living here unless it\u2019s right by the park and really nice for the kids.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She also agreed to give Blackstock visitation rights<\/span><\/a> in their divorce.<\/span><\/p>\n
