{"id":1946131,"date":"2025-08-07T10:32:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T10:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1946131"},"modified":"2025-08-07T10:32:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T10:32:53","slug":"madi-prewett-talks-church-gossip-and-reconnecting-with-her-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/madi-prewett-talks-church-gossip-and-reconnecting-with-her-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"Madi Prewett Talks Church Gossip and Reconnecting With Her Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Bachelor <\/i>alum <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/madison-prewett\/\"><strong>Madi Prewett<\/strong><\/a> is getting real about past issues that she claims she had with her church community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI can relate to being really hurt by the church, being judged by the church [and] gossip taking place about me in the church,\u201d Prewett, 29, said on the Monday, August 4, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5VjojL1sqSo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">episode<\/a> of her \u201cStay True\u201d podcast, while speaking to author and Bible teacher Lisa Harper. \u201cIt is really, really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As Prewett attempted to navigate her interpersonal issues, she said that she started pull away from her faith.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cHonestly, for about a year, I found myself distancing myself from the church,\u201d she explained. \u201c[I was] falling into the, like, listening to sermons but not going and not partaking in small group and fellowship within the body of Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prewett added, \u201cI had this moment of realization as I was talking it up with God, and just realizing, \u2018OK, I\u2019ve been hurt by the church, but I\u2019ve also been absolutely changed and transformed by the church. I\u2019ve been hurt by people of God, but I\u2019ve also been healed and freed by people of God through the spirit of God.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to Prewett, she realized that she was \u201conly hurting\u201d herself by maintaining a distance from the church.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI had to grieve and I had to figure that out with the Lord for myself,\u201d she said. \u201cI want anyone listening [to know] the importance of being plugged into a local church, the importance of having community [and] the importance of finding wise counsel. I think we\u2019ve both seen the importance of that, especially when conflict arises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She continued at the time, \u201cIf I have not spent time with the Lord and if I have not reminded myself of what\u2019s most important, that\u2019s where a really, you know, not-so-pretty side of Madi can come out and I can just be really selfish and just have such unfair expectations. And so that\u2019s why it\u2019s really important for me to kind of get my heart right in the mornings and to just align myself with the Lord and kind of love from that place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prewett and Troutt, 29, started dating in 2021 and got married in October 2022.
