Actress Kelley Mack<\/strong>\u2018s death<\/a> came as a shock to those in her inner circle after she underwent treatment during her glioma battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A rep for the Walking Dead<\/em><\/a> alum told TMZ<\/a> that her death was a \u201ctotal\u201d surprise, noting that Mack was auditioning for projects earlier in the summer. By July, Mack took a break from the audition circuit, but the rep said \u201cno one expected\u201d the news of her death. (A family source told the outlet that Mack made a \u201cnice recovery\u201d following her treatment earlier this year.)<\/p>\n

Mack\u2019s sister Kathryn<\/strong> announced via Instagram<\/a> on Tuesday, August 5, that she died \u201cpeacefully\u201d at age 33 days prior.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley,\u201d her statement read. \u201cSuch a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go. \u2026 She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kathryn praised her sister\u2019s strength throughout her health battle and thanked those who supported the actress along the way. \u201cShe would want you all to know how much she loves you,\u201d she wrote. \u201cAnd as her sister, I want you all to know how brave that tough SOB was, especially when she decided to make the leap to be reunited with God. I\u2019m so f***ing proud of her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mack was best known for playing Addy on The Walking Dead<\/em>, joining the cast in season 9. She also portrayed Penelope Jacobs on season 8 of Chicago Med<\/em> and had a cameo role on 9-1-1.<\/em> Before her death, Mack worked on a sci-fi film titled Universal<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Mack revealed in January that she was diagnosed with glioma, an \u201cextremely rare\u201d cancer, after experiencing \u201cpersistent lower back pain\u201d and other symptoms in the fall. At the time, Mack told fans that she \u201clost the use of my right leg and most of my left leg\u201d following a biopsy surgery on her spinal cord.<\/p>\n
