The country music community is feeling the loss of two legendary artists, as many big names in the genre are sharing their condolences.<\/p>\n
Jeannie Seely, 85, and Flaco Jim\u00e9nez, 86, have recently died.<\/p>\n
Seely, dubbed \u201cMiss Country Soul,\u201d died Friday, Aug. 1<\/a>, at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee, as a result of complications from an intestinal infection.<\/p>\n Seely had been battling health issues in 2025. She revealed<\/a> in May that she was recovering from \u201cmultiple\u201d back surgeries and two emergency abdominal surgeries.<\/p>\n The artist also spent nearly two weeks in the ICU and battled pneumonia on top of it.<\/p>\n Jim\u00e9nez, who was known for his contributions to conjunto and Tex-Mex music, died on Thursday, July 31.<\/p>\n Since their deaths, the musicians are being remembered by staple names in the industry.<\/p>\n Tanya Tucker shared her thoughts on Seely\u2019s death, posting an old photo of them to Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy girl Jeannie got her wings yesterday, but not before I called her,\u201d Tucker said. \u201cThey put the phone up to her ear and as I talked, memories were flooding my mind with all the great times we shared. I\u2019m sure at one point she thought I was the guest that never left. I spent a lot of time over at her house. It was a time of great hope and we were young, invincible and nothing was gonna stop us and the songs flowed freely with writers coming in and out of that house. She\u2019s part of my DNA, part of me left when she did, but I\u2019ll see you again, my friend someday. Make sure that guitar players in tune. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n Dolly Parton also shared her thoughts to Instagram<\/a> calling Seely one of her \u201cdearest friends.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think she was one of the greater singers in Nashville and she had a wonderful sense of humor. We had many wonderful laughs together, cried over certain things together and she will be missed,\u201d Parton continued with.<\/p>\n Reba McEntire posted a photo of her, Parton and Seely to Instagram<\/a>, with her thoughts.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always loved this woman! She was a little spitfire, opinionated team player! Rest in peace, Jeannie,\u201d McEntire wrote.<\/p>\n Trisha Yearwood took to her social media with a photo with Seely.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was a talented, smart trailblazer for all women,\u201d Yearwood said. \u201cShe knew who she was and what she stood for. She was a friend to everyone who stepped onto the Opry stage. I can\u2019t explain how much I already miss her.\u201d<\/p>\n Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum shared his condolences for Jim\u00e9nez<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n The CEO remembered Jim\u00e9nez as a \u201cparagon\u201d of Tejano conjunto music.<\/p>\n \u201cWhether he was recording with Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, or the Rolling Stones, or working with his own supergroup, the Texas Tornados, Flaco drew millions of listeners into a rich musical world they might not have discovered on their own. \u2018Streets of Bakersfield\u2019 by Dwight and Buck wouldn\u2019t have been the same without his sparkling touches. Neither will a music community that cherished his towering talent and open heart,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Singer Dwight Yoakam also remembered Jim\u00e9nez in a Facebook<\/a> post.<\/p>\n \u201cIn fond and loving memory of the great Flaco Jim\u00e9nez! he said. \u201cIt was an honor to know you and a profound privilege to have been able to work with you.
