Paulina Porizkova is embracing aging.<\/p>\n
The Swedish supermodel, who recently turned 60, shared a pair of candid photos on Instagram on Jul. 28, contrasting a glamorous, posed vacation shot with a raw, un-retouched photo of herself at home.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is me. Vacation, pretty light, posing for a shot,\u201d she said of her first photo. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is also me. Home, not great light, not posing,\u201d she said of the second image.<\/p>\n
The former \u201cAmerica\u2019s Next Top Model\u201d<\/a> judge explained that these photos both reflect who she is.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is 60. This is 60 years of sometimes healthy eating, sometimes not. 60 years of sometimes working out, sometimes not. 60 years of doing the right things followed by doing the wrong things and over again and again. It\u2019s 60 years of learning of what works and what doesn\u2019t. And just as I think I\u2019ve figured it out, everything changes and I have to start again.\u201d<\/p>\n She concluded her post with a piece of wisdom she\u2019s gained: \u201cThe beauty of 60 is that now I understand the importance is IN the lesson, not passing the exam.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Porizkova has spoken openly about embracing aging. Leading up to her milestone birthday in April, she appeared on the \u201cToday\u201d<\/a> show in January, where she said, \u201cI have never been more thrilled about a birthday in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n She also spoke on wrinkles and how women are \u201cso scared\u201d of getting them.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I keep looking at wrinkles \u2014 mine, yours, any woman that I see \u2014 and I think, \u2018It\u2019s your map of life. I see how you are as a person. Why would you want to erase it?\u2019”<\/p>\n Porizkova rose to fame in the 1980s after becoming the first Central European woman to appear on the cover of \u201cSports Illustrated\u201d’s swimsuit issue in 1984. She\u2019s modeled for Chanel, Christian Dior, Hermes, and Versace. Last month, she got engaged to writer Jeff Greenstein.
