Robert Pattinson\u2019s diary continues to fill up as Matt Reeves\u2019 The Batman sequel is preparing to shoot in the spring, according to Warner Bros. Discovery.<\/p>\n
The Batman Part II will finally begin filming next year, the company said in a letter to shareholders Thursday, aiming for an Oct. 1, 2027 theatrical release. Reeves completed the script in June.<\/p>\n

Pattinson starred in the titular role and will return to Gotham in part two. He\u2019s been busy so far this year, shooting other tentpole features such as Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey and Denis Villeneuve\u2019s Dune 3.<\/p>\n Elsewhere, \u201cJames Gunn is already preparing to write the next installment in the Super family,\u201d David Zaslav also confirmed, with the letter detailing that Gunn is working on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026), Clayface (2026), and the next Wonder Woman.<\/p>\n Gunn\u2019s Superman hit with David Corenswet at the forefront has surpassed $500 million at the global box office. Warner Bros. continued: \u201cDC Studio\u2019s universe of characters represents not only one of Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s most valuable pieces of intellectual property, but one of the most valuable assets in entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n Gunn came to Reeves\u2019 defense last year on social media when fans were criticizing the five-year gap between The Batman and The Batman Part II. \u201cTo be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels,\u201d the DC Studios co-CEO said. \u201c7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminators. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, 6 years between Guardians Vol 2 and Vol 3.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPeople should get off Matt\u2019s nuts because it\u2019s like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat\u2019s just the way it is. He doesn\u2019t owe you something because you like his movie. I mean, you like his movie because of Matt.
