On April 14, the world watched as Katy Perry<\/strong> went to space aboard the all-female Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. But there was one person who didn\u2019t tune in to observe the monumental occasion: Mariah Carey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During an appearance<\/a> on the Scott Mills Breakfast Show<\/em> on BBC Radio 2, the \u201cEmotions\u201d singer, 56, appeared stunned when host Scott Mills<\/strong> brought up Perry\u2019s history-making expedition. \u201cDid she go to space?\u201d a confused Carey asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot for long,\u201d Mills responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere\u2019d she go?\u201d Carey asked, still visibly perplexed. \u201cInto orbit and back?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s like floating in the\u2026\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd this is true?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mills then promised Carey he was, in fact, telling the truth. \u201cI\u2019ve not made this up,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is true\u2026 she was proper in space.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWow. Alright Katy,\u201d said Carey, who seemed to be impressed. \u201cI\u2019m not mad at her. That\u2019s pretty amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carey went on to make it clear has no plans to follow in the 40-year-old former American Idol<\/em> judge\u2019s footsteps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve done enough,\u201d she quipped when Mills asked if she\u2019d like to go to space as well.<\/p>\n

The Blue Origin New Shepard NS-31 mission\u2014 which was made up of Perry, Aisha Bowe<\/strong>, Amanda Nguy\u1ec5n<\/strong>, Gayle King<\/strong>, Kerianne Flynn<\/strong>, and Lauren S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> \u2014 launched from El Paso, Texas and lasted just 10 minutes and 21 seconds. The trip marked the all-female crew to fly to space in over 60 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
