Dave Franco<\/strong><\/a> has seen the internet\u2019s pleas for him to play accused UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin Luigi Mangione<\/strong> \u2014 and he could be interested.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one has approached me about it yet, I\u2019ll say that,\u201d Franco, 40, shared during the Tuesday, August 6, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. \u201cThis is something that more people in my life reached out about this exact thing than anything else that has ever happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Franco said he\u2019s \u201copen\u201d if the project is right.<\/p>\n Several celebrities, including filmmaker Stephen Robert Morse<\/strong>, have weighed in on the possibility of a film<\/a> about Mangione, 27. Morse claimed earlier this year that he already had a documentary in the works.<\/p>\n Cooper Koch Isn\u2019t Interested in Portraying Alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooter Luigi Mangione<\/a><\/p>\n Mangione was arrested in December 2024 in connection with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson<\/strong>. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.<\/p>\n Mangione is facing four federal charges and 11 state charges, including murder, terrorism and stalking. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Federal prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.<\/p>\n Following Mangione\u2019s arrest, social media was flooded with requests<\/a> that Franco play him when the upcoming trial inevitably gets the Hollywood treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cI have never received more texts in my life about anything,\u201d Franco told The Hollywood Reporter in January. \u201cAnyone who has my phone number has reached out about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Franco\u2019s most recent comment about playing the accused comes after Us Weekly confirmed that Mangione was granted a laptop in jail<\/a> to prepare for his upcoming trial, which will likely start next year.<\/p>\n
