There’s no shortage of events happening this summer in Cincinnati, and the weekend of Aug. 8-10 is no different.<\/p>\n
Between the kickoff of the world-renowned Cincinnati Open<\/a> in Mason this week and the Voices of America Country Music Fest<\/a>\u00a0in West Chester Township starting Thursday, the region’s event calendar is packed.<\/p>\n Here’s a rundown of all that’s happening in Cincinnati this weekend.<\/p>\n The following major events are drawing attendees to the region this week:<\/p>\n The Cincinnati Open<\/a>, formerly called the Western & Southern Open, is a world-renowned sporting event and the\u00a0longest-tenured tennis tournament<\/a> of its kind. It takes place across 14 days, from Aug. 5-18, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, up from the nine-day spectacle that\u00a0drew more than 205,000 people<\/a>\u00a0and generated millions in gross revenue last August.<\/p>\n The prestigious event\u00a0began with two days of<\/a>\u00a0qualifying rounds before the first round kicked off the main draw Aug. 7 and seven days of matches leading to the quarterfinals Aug. 14. The tournament culminates in the doubles finals Aug. 17 and singles finals Aug. 18.<\/p>\n Voices of America Country Music Fest, hosted in West Chester, takes place Aug. 7-10 and draws attendees for a stacked lineup of country music artists.<\/p>\n Ticket packages including four-day general admission and four-day super VIP are available for purchase online at voacountrymusicfest.frontgatetickets.com.<\/a><\/p>\n A range of country music artists are slated to play at Voices of America Country Music Fest, featuring main stage performers Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Shaboozey, Hardy and Bailey Zimmerman.<\/p>\n View the full four-day lineup here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arcade Music Fest, taking place Aug. 8-9, is a Covington-based arts and music festival spotlighting the historic Pike Street Arcade Tunnel. The two-day event will transform the streets of Covington with over 50 bands, 40 local vendors and food trucks, and immersive art, with the Arcade Tunnel serving as the main stage for music and a light installation space.<\/p>\n Learn more at arcademusicfest.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Red Bull Flugtag, happening Aug. 9 at Sawyer Point Park and Yeatman\u2019s Cove, is an event hosted by the popular energy drink brand in which contestants construct a “flying machine” which they then launch over the Ohio River to either fly or plunge into the waters below. Teams are then judged by a panel of local and national celebrities using three criteria \u2013 flight distance, creativity and showmanship.<\/p>\n The name flugtag means \u201cflying day\u201d in German.<\/p>\n Nelly, the three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper and singer, is playing Riverbend Music Center<\/a> on Sunday, Aug. 10 as part of his Where The Party At Tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of his debut studio album “Country Grammar.”<\/p>\nWhat’s happening in Cincinnati this weekend?<\/h2>\n
