Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has died. <\/p>\n
He was 48.<\/p>\n
His rep told NBC in a statement that he died after a years-long battle with cancer. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,\u201d the statement read. \u201cBrandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family.<\/p>\n
The news comes just a day after Clarkson, who has children River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 8, with Blackstock, postponed her August residency shows in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhile I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children\u2019s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,\u201d she wrote. <\/b><\/a>\u201cI am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson was set up for her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. <\/p>\n Her next performance is now set for Nov. 7.<\/p>\n Rolling Stone reported that Clarkson and her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, married in 2013.<\/p>\n Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020, the outlet reported, and it was finalized two years later.<\/p>\n Her fans on X were willing to show her the grace that she asked for.<\/p>\n \u201cFamily first!\u201d Rone Jean responded. \u201cHope all is well!
