The upcoming Highlander<\/a> <\/strong>reboot has added another high-profile star to its cast, casting a well-known actor from the MCU<\/a> and world of Dune<\/a> in a villainous role.<\/p>\n According to a new report from Deadline, Dave Bautista<\/strong><\/a> is set to join the upcoming reboot from Chad Stahelski<\/span>. He\u2019ll play the role of the Kurgan, a character originally played by Clancy Brown in the 1986 film of the same name. In the original film, the Kurgan \u2014 who\u2019s real name was Vitor \u2014 is an extremely powerful Immortal and the main antagonist of the film.<\/p>\n Bautista will star opposite Henry Cavill<\/span> in the movie. Cavill is set to play the lead role of Connor MacLeod, originally played by Christopher Lambert. Alongside the pair, Russell Crowe is also set to star in the film, in an undisclosed \u201ckey role\u201d in the movie.<\/p>\n Plot details for the new Highlander movie have not yet been revealed. The project was originally in development at Lionsgate but is now instead being made for\u00a0Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>.<\/p>\n Production on the film is expected to begin this coming fall.
