I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been a staple on our screens for the last 23 years, and it doesn’t seem like that is going to change any time soon. The show which is front by Ant and Dec<\/a> for ITV has taken numerous celebrities to the Australian outback since 2002. You can find the rumoured line up for this year’s season here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, a television source has revealed that ITV<\/a> is aiming to secure the Australian jungle location for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!<\/a> for an additional five years, which would see the popular reality series through to its 30th season.<\/p>\n

ITV, which has traditionally opted for three-year contracts for the use of the Murwillumbah site in New South Wales, appears to be changing tactics with this potential five-year deal. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n

The Sun has reported that discussions are currently taking place with Australian officials and the Tweed Shire Council, who need to give the green light for any extended filming permissions.<\/p>\n

An insider from the TV industry shared with the publication: “The production team are planning five years in advance, which is a long-term approach they haven’t adopted before.<\/p>\n

“But this is not a done deal with the local authorities, and the negotiations have just started to secure the site.”<\/p>\n

The source added: “They’re not taking anything for granted but are hopeful all parties involved will be able to reach some kind of agreement.”<\/p>\n

A representative for the Tweed Shire Council has acknowledged that conversations are ongoing.<\/p>\n

They commented: “They will need to seek permission again \u2013 we can’t give open-ended filming permissions to anyone.”<\/p>\n

I’m A Celebrity, presented by the duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both aged 48, continues to be ITV’s most successful returning entertainment show.<\/p>\n

The show’s 24th series last year attracted an average viewership of 9.1 million, claiming the title of the most-watched entertainment programme of 2024.<\/p>\n

The show’s format involves celebrities facing trials in the Australian outback, vying for public approval. However, due to the Covid pandemic, the programme temporarily moved to Gwrych Castle in North Wales for its 2020 and 2021 series.<\/p>\n

The latest champion of the series is 38-year-old McFly band member, Danny Jones, with runners-up including Rev. Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney.<\/p>\n

The 25th series is slated to air this autumn, but ITV has yet to officially announce the full roster of celebrity participants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
