EXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: One of the more intriguing Emmy battles this year is Beyonc\u00e9 going head-to-head with Saturday Night Live\u2019s celeb-filled 50th anniversary special.<\/p>\n Netflix\u2019s Beyonc\u00e9 Bowl and SNL 50: The Anniversary are battling each other in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n The Television Academy had originally scheduled this award to be handed out during the second night of the Creative Arts Emmys<\/a>, but Deadline understands that it has now been moved to the main primetime show, which will take place September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and air on CBS and Paramount+.<\/p>\n A TV Academy spokesman confirmed the move. The motives for the move are not entirely clear, but it\u2019s likely an opportunity to get Beyonc\u00e9 to the awards. The pop star has never attended the Emmys, despite having been nominated before.<\/p>\n The two shows will also go up against fellow nominees the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar and the Oscars. The latter won the award last year, beating Usher\u2019s Super Bowl halftime show, the Grammys, Netflix\u2019s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady and the Tonys.<\/p>\n The category is wide open; the Super Bowl halftime show won the award in 2022 when it featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Lamar and 50 Cent and SNL\u2019s birthday celebrations featured more former stars and A-list celebrities that could fit in Studio 8H.<\/p>\n Saturday Night Live is hoping for a strong showing at this year\u2019s awards after scoring its most ever Emmy nominations with 31 <\/a>across its main show and various birthday celebrations. This included seven for\u00a0Saturday Night Live\u2019s\u00a050th\u00a0season including Bowen Yang in Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as 12 nominations for\u00a0SNL50: The Anniversary Special\u00a0and six for\u00a0SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.
