Tributes have poured in from across the music industry after the death of Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>, British rock royalty.<\/p>\n The pioneering Black Sabbath frontman and reality TV star was 76 and, according<\/a> to an official statement, he died \u201cwith his family and surrounded by love\u201d.<\/p>\n Rolling Stones musician Ronnie Wood posted<\/a> on social media: \u201cI am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne \u2026 What a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.\u201d<\/p>\n On Instagram, Elton John<\/a> shared<\/a> a picture of himself with Osbourne, writing: \u201cHe was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods \u2013 a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I\u2019ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.\u201d<\/p>\n Rod Stewart wrote<\/a> on Instagram: \u201cBye, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I\u2019ll see you up there \u2013 later rather than sooner.\u201d<\/p>\n Fellow Birmingham band Duran Duran wrote on Instagram<\/a>: \u201cWhat can you say about Ozzy? Whatever it is, it\u2019s in a Brummie accent. Hard to imagine a world without him, Ozzy brought so much joy, humor and raw power to the world, in a life of many chapters. Ozzy was a cat who had way more than nine lives. When we lose one of our own, it bleeds \u2026 A titanic boulder has crashed, but rock will roll on.\u201d<\/p>\n Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who was the musical director for Osbourne\u2019s all-star farewell concert, Back to the Beginning<\/a>, wrote on Instagram<\/a>: \u201cGood bless you Ozzy.\u201d<\/p>\n Metal band Judas Priest said in a collective statement that \u201cour hearts are broken like millions around the world \u2014 words can\u2019t express the love and loss we are all feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale paid tribute in a number of posts on X, sending<\/a> \u201csincere condolences\u201d to the Osbourne family and calling<\/a> it a \u201cvery sad\u201d morning.<\/p>\n Scott Ian, guitarist in thrash metal band Anthrax, wrote that the band met with Osbourne recently in Birmingham<\/a>. \u201cPeace, love and gratitude to one of the giants, one of the actual architects of the genre, one of the originals. The King,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWe were with him in Birmingham just over a week ago talking about how incredible Back to the Beginning was. Ozzy was in a great mood, laughing and cracking us up.\u201d<\/p>\n The official account of US heavy metal band Pantera posted<\/a>: \u201cThank you for all that you did for metal & Pantera. We wouldn\u2019t be here if it wasn\u2019t for you.\u201d Metallica\u2019s official account simply shared a broken heart emoji.<\/p>\n Rapper Flavor Flav wrote<\/a> that he was \u201cheartbroken\u201d over the news and they \u201cgo way back\u201d. He went on to write that he was \u201csending my love and prayers\u201d to the Osbourne family.<\/p>\n Green Day<\/a> frontman Billie Joe Armstrong shared<\/a> a picture of Osbourne on his Instagram account, adding: \u201cNo words. We love you Ozzy.\u201d Bush singer Gavin Rossdale also paid tribute, calling<\/a> him \u201cso warm and kind and funny\u201d and \u201ca great man\u201d.<\/p>\n English singer-songwriter Yungblud, who recently performed alongside Osbourne, wrote<\/a> that he is \u201cheartbroken\u201d over the loss. \u201cYou asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough,\u201d he wrote. \u201cYou took us on your adventure \u2013 an adventure that started it all.\u201d<\/p>\n Former professional boxer Frank Bruno called<\/a> him \u201ca character a funny man and a legend who we will not see the likes of ever again\u201d while Aquaman star Jason Momoa<\/a> shared<\/a> a picture of himself with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, calling himself \u201cgrateful\u201d to have met them.<\/p>\n Osbourne died just weeks after reuniting on stage with Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005 for Back to the Beginning<\/a>.
