{"id":1948621,"date":"2025-08-08T05:34:52","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T05:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1948621"},"modified":"2025-08-08T05:34:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T05:34:52","slug":"alabama-expands-entertainment-incentives-to-boost-states-music-and-creative-industries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/alabama-expands-entertainment-incentives-to-boost-states-music-and-creative-industries\/","title":{"rendered":"Alabama expands entertainment incentives to boost state\u2019s music and creative industries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MONTGOMERY, Alabama \u2014 Governor Kay Ivey has signed into law a major expansion of Alabama\u2019s entertainment tax incentive program, aimed at accelerating growth across the state\u2019s film, television, and now music sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Bill 177 modernizes the Entertainment Industry Incentive Act of 2009 by extending support to music productions, setting realistic thresholds and establishing greater fiscal flexibility and oversight.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation also officially rebrands the <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alabamafilm.org\/'\">Alabama Film Office<\/a><\/strong> as the Alabama Entertainment Office, reflecting its broader mission to support an additional facet of the state\u2019s creative economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlabama has long been home to great storytelling and timeless music,\u201d Governor Kay Ivey said. \u201cWith this expansion, we\u2019re putting a modern spotlight on Alabama\u2019s creative talent and helping our state compete for projects that bring good jobs, new investment and a renewed sense of pride in our entertainment heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A ceremonial bill signing held by Governor Ivey last week attracted several music industry figures, including Rodney Hall of Muscle Shoals\u2019 <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/famestudios.com\/\">Fame Studios<\/a><\/strong>, Debbie Wilson of <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/muscleshoalssoundstudio.org\/?srsltid=AfmBOor661eSK8MPa88ZhzDJxQGuyGIEtrRmManT6tEJwyIo-re9Vs3v\">Muscle Shoals Sound<\/a><\/strong>, Kelly McDonald of the <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alamhof.org\/\">Alabama Music Hall of Fame<\/a><\/strong>, Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella and Grammy Award winning musician\/songwriter Gary Baker.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is a key player in Alabama music production scene. (Image: Taryn Kimbrough)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Several figures from Alabama\u2019s film and television industry were on hand, including actor\/producer Clayne Crawford, a native of Clay who has been an active supporter of elevating the state\u2019s profile for entertainment productions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlabama has everything it needs to become a powerhouse for film, television and music \u2014 from incredible locations and homegrown talent to a deep well of cultural authenticity,\u201d Crawford said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis expansion of the entertainment incentives is a game-changer. It shows the world that Alabama is serious about building a creative economy \u2014 not just for outsiders to visit, but for our own artists, storytellers and musicians to thrive right here at home,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Also present were state Rep. Jamie Kiel and Sen.
