Steel City post-punk powerhouse dust<\/a> are stepping up in a big way \u2013 the rising five-piece have just announced their debut album, Sky Is Falling<\/em>, set to land on October 10. And to mark the occasion, they\u2019ve dropped a blistering new single, dubbed \u2018Drawbacks\u2019.<\/p>\n Written entirely as a band, \u2018Drawbacks\u2019 is dust at full tilt \u2014 a tense, textured tangle of woozy sax, driving bass and frenetic drums, topped off with Justin Teale\u2019s rapid-fire \u201cword vomit\u201d of personal frustration, self-doubt, and flashes of hope.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s about everyday feelings that should be comfortable but somehow aren\u2019t,\u201d Teale explains in a press statement. \u201cFeelings of shame and regret in social situations, where you can\u2019t shake off the head noise.\u201d<\/p>\n The track follows the group\u2019s 2023 breakout EP et cetera, etc<\/em>, which put their industrial-tinged, genre-blurring spin on Australian post-punk firmly on the map. Since then, dust have barely stopped moving \u2014 touring Australia, the UK and US with the likes of Slowdive, Interpol, Bloc Party and Protomartyr, tearing up festival stages at Laneway, Pitchfork Music Festival, London Calling, and repping hard at BIGSOUND<\/a>, SXSW and The Great Escape.<\/p>\n Now they\u2019re ready to make their biggest statement yet via their debut long-player.
