A fire has broken out at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) entertainment and conference complex.<\/p>\n

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was dealing with a fire affecting the exterior of the building on Exeter Road, which started shortly after 19:30 BST.<\/p>\n

It said the fire affected the external roof fascia with some smoke entering the building through a window. <\/p>\n

Crews are remaining on the scene to dampen down. Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Images on social media earlier showed smoke and flames coming from the coast-facing side of the building.<\/p>\n

The BIC opening in 1984 and is Bournemouth’s main entertainment complex, regularly hosting large-scale events including concerts and the main political party conferences.<\/p>\n

The venue’s website had no events listed for Monday evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
