WYOMISSING, Pa.- The Berks County-based PENN Entertainment is announcing changes to its casino portfolio.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Next week, the company will close its\u00a0Hollywood Casino Joliet riverboat in preparation for the opening of a new land-based property.<\/p>\n
The new\u00a0Hollywood Casino Joliet, located adjacent to the Interstate 80 and Interstate 55 interchange southwest of downtown Chicago, will feature approximately 1,000 slots and 43 live table games. It’s expected to open on August 11.<\/p>\n
The original riverboat casino\u00a0opened in 1992 on the shores of the Des Plaines River.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs we transition to our new state-of-the-art facility, we reflect on 30+ years of operating in Joliet,\u201d said Jay Snowden, CEO and President of PENN Entertainment, in a news release. \u201cWe look forward to continuing to create best-in-class experiences for our loyal customers, welcoming new guests, and supporting this community for years to come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n PENN Entertainment, based in Wyomissing, operates 42 casinos and racetracks across 20 states.
