Modern Family <\/i>child star Frances Anderson<\/strong> is detailing her decision to go by a different name<\/a> professionally.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrances is actually part of my legal name. It\u2019s my middle name, and it\u2019s after my mom\u2019s old family friend,\u201d Anderson, 18, told E! News <\/i><\/a>in an interview published on Friday, August 8. \u201cI thought, one, it was a bit shorter than \u2018Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.\u2019 I do have a long, hyphenated last name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson was previously credited as Aubrey Anderson-Emmons when she played Lily<\/a>, the daughter of Cam and Mitchell, on all 11 seasons of Modern Family<\/i>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI [also] wanted to switch it up and I wanted people to see a new side of me,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cI wanted to create a space specifically just for music. I\u2019m so excited for everybody to hear the songs on the EP, and I\u2019m so grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tModern Family\u2019s Aubrey Anderson-Emmons is considering reprising her role of Lily Tucker-Pritchett on the hit ABC show. The actress \u2014 who admitted to discussing the idea with TV dad Jesse Tyler Ferguson \u2014 told celebrity.land.com in an interview published on Tuesday, February 20 that Modern Family had \u201ca good ending,\u201d but remains optimistic about a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Anderson released her debut EP,<\/a> Drown<\/i>, on Friday about her experiences as a child star and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of my music is inspired from stuff when I was younger, when I was a kid,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cA lot about what my experiences were like in high school, and I hope that people find it relatable. I am a teenager, I guess, I just turned 18. I feel like that\u2019s peak edginess.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson took a step back from acting after Modern Family <\/i>wrapped in 2020, instead focusing on music. (Anderson was 12 years old when the sitcom ended.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI learned how to play guitar during COVID, and I learned to really write during my high school music class, and before then, I\u2019ve always been a singer,\u201d she told E! News. <\/i>\u201cOne of my big dreams in life was to be on Broadway. I\u2019m still hoping to do that one day\u2014fingers crossed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson is also open to the possibility of getting back into acting, especially if a Modern Family <\/i>spinoff is on the table.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey really haven\u2019t said much about anything. But my mom asked me, \u2018Would you want to do that?\u2019 and I thought about it and I don\u2019t know,\u201d Anderson told the Daily Mail <\/i><\/a>in February 2024. \u201cI think maybe if it happened \u2014 and probably if it did happen \u2014 I would be out of high school. So honestly, that would be fine with me, but I want to stay in high school because I only have less than a year and a half left.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson, who graduated earlier this year, did note that she would \u201cdefinitely be interested\u201d based on the script \u2014 and if her TV dads (played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/strong> and Eric Stonestreet<\/strong>) were also on board.<\/p>\n
