EXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>After hitting it big with the Sydney Sweeney-Glen Powell rom com Anyone But You, Will Gluck hopes lightning strikes twice as he looks to have landed on another pair of young stars to light up the screen for his next feature. Sources tell Deadline, Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner are set to star in\u00a0One Night Only\u00a0for Universal Pictures. Sources also tell Deadline the film will bow on Aug. 7, 2026. Gluck will direct the project based on his rewrite of Travis Braun\u2019s Black List script.<\/p>\n The script topped the 2024 Blacklist, and while it\u2019s unknown if Gluck\u2019s version will stray from the original story, the original draft follows two strangers who scramble to find someone to sleep with on the one night of the year when premarital sex is legal.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n Gluck will produce through Olive Bridge Entertainment. Jacqueline Monetta, VP Olive Bridge Entertainment, will oversee and produce with Gluck. Senior Executive Vice President of Production Development Erik Baiers and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the Studio.<\/p>\n Gluck had been weighing a handful of options following the success of Anyone But You and finally landed on this project on his next film. Given Gluck\u2019s track record of taking rising stars like Emma Stone, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell and turning them into A-list movie stars, the project attracted a ton of talent with Barbaro and Turner being top choices from the start.<\/p>\n Barbaro has had a slew of offers to choose from following her first Academy Award nomination earlier this year for her star-making performance as the iconic folk singer and activist Joan Baez in James Mangold\u2019s Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. She is currently in production on Luca Guadagnino\u2019s Artificial opposite Yura Borisov and Andrew Garfield for Amazon MGM.<\/p>\n Next up, she will make her stage debut at London\u2019s National Theatre in a revival of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos\u2019 Les Liasons Dangereuses opposite Lesley Manville and directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Marianne Elliott, as well as star in Bart Layton\u2019s Crime 101 opposite Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry and Chris Hemsworth for Amazon MGM. Barbaro is also known for her breakout role as \u201cPhoenix\u201d opposite Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in Top Gun: Maverick, which received 6 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.<\/p>\n As for Turner, he will next star in the film Rose of Nevada from Protagonist Pictures, written and directed by Mark Jenkin, opposite George MacKay, which will have its World Premiere at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival. He will also star in A24\u2019s romantic comedy feature film Eternity, directed by David Freyne, opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. The film is set to debut at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025 before its theatrical release in November. Also upcoming, Turner will appear in the drama thriller film Rosebush Prunning, directed by Karim A\u00efnouz, starring alongside Jamie Bell, Riley Keough, Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson.<\/p>\n Turner recently completed production on Neuromancer, Apple TV+\u2019s adaptation of William Gibson\u2019s seminal cyberpunk novel. He will star as \u2018Case\u2019 in the 10-episode series from creators Graham Roland and JD Dillard. He also recently attended the 2025 Sundance Film Festival for the World Premiere of Atropia, a war satire film written and directed by Hailey Gates, produced by Guadagnino, also starring Alia Shawkat. The film won the Grand Jury Prize in the festival\u2019s U.S. Dramatic Competition.<\/p>\n Gluck previously directed box office hit\u00a0Anyone but You, starring Glenn Powell and Sydney Sweeney.
