Sony\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sony.com\/en\/SonyInfo\/IR\/library\/presen\/er\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that its music division\u2019s recorded-music revenues grew by 1% year-on-year to \u00a5301bn ($2.04bn at current exchange rates) in the second quarter of this year \u2013\u00a0its fiscal Q1. That included 7% growth in streaming revenues and an 11% spike in physical sales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Sony\u2019s music publishing revenues grew by 2% to \u00a599bn ($672.4m), also including an 8% uptick in streaming revenue. As for WMG, it\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wmg.com\/news\/warner-music-group-corp-reports-results-for-fiscal-third-quarter-ended-june-30-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0recordings revenue up 8% year-on-year to $1.35bn. While streaming subscriptions grew by 5.3% as part of that, ad-supported revenues fell by 0.9% due to what WMG described as \u201ca soft overall ad environment\u201d.
