Reba McEntire<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s<\/span> son, Shelby Blackstock<\/strong>, is paying tribute to his half brother Brandon Blackstock<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWords cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather and a son,\u201d Shelby, 35, wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Friday, August 8. \u201cBrandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family \u2014 funny, bright and full of life \u2014 and he will be deeply missed.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a collage of photos, Shelby shared happy memories with his half brother, including moments from various family vacations.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever,\u201d Shelby continued. \u201cFor every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we\u2019ll never get to make together, but I know you\u2019ll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I\u2019ll feel your presence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tReba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock\u2019s 2015 split was not only the end of a 26-year marriage \u2014 it was also the disillusionment of a business empire. The former couple got together in the mid 1980s while Blackstock was working as McEntire\u2019s tour manager. (The \u201cFancy\u201d singer became a stepmother to her husband\u2019s three children \u2014 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Thursday, August 7, Us Weekly<\/i> confirmed that Brandon had died<\/span><\/a> after a private battle with cancer. He was 48.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family,\u201d a rep for the family said in a statement to Us<\/i>. \u201cWe thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family\u2019s privacy during this very difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
