A federal judge sided with Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a> as part of her plea over the transcript of her deposition and scolded Justin Baldoni<\/a>\u2019<\/strong>s team in the process, Us Weekly<\/em> can report.<\/p>\n

On Friday, August 8, the judge presiding over Lively\u2019s sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, granted the Gossip Girl<\/em> alum\u2019s request to not allow Baldoi\u2019s team to use the transcript in court until it has been finalized. Baldoni denied all claims of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s lawyer, Bryan Freedman<\/strong>, attached a portion of Lively\u2019s deposition to a recent court motion. The transcript was filed under seal. Lively\u2019s team argued it was improper for it to be attached.<\/p>\n

Lively, 37, also asked that the full 292-page transcript<\/a> not be released until it has at least been \u201creviewed, corrected or finalized.\u201d The actress said she had every intention of having her testimony heard.<\/a><\/p>\n

She said she believed Baldoni\u2019s team submitted the transcript \u201csolely for strategic media and public-relations purposes.\u201d Lively said Baldoni\u2019s team was trying to make it appear as if she wanted the transcript sealed.<\/p>\n

Freedman responded by telling the court the transcript was under seal. He scoffed at Lively\u2019s claim they were trying to make her defend the \u201ccontinued sealing of the transcript.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLively has the option of moving to keep the document sealed; although it is puzzling why she seeks to conceal her own testimony in an action in which she is the plaintiff,\u201d Freedman wrote.<\/p>\n

In the newly filed order, the judge noted, \u201c[Baldoni\u2019s team\u2019s] attachment of the entire, nearly 300-page deposition \u2014 after citing only two pages of it in the Letter \u2014 served no proper litigation purpose and instead appears to have been intended to burden Lively (and as a result, the Court) and to invite public speculation and scandal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The judge continued<\/a>, \u201cEven if the cited deposition portions were relevant or provided support for the [Baldoni\u2019s team\u2019s] arguments \u2014 both of which are far from clear \u2014 [Baldoni\u2019s team has] not even attempted to argue that the entire deposition was relevant. Nor could they.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conclusion is inescapable that [Baldoni\u2019s team] filed gratuitous amounts of irrelevant pages so that, if Lively moved for continued sealing of the irrelevant pages, the [Baldoni\u2019s team] could then use Lively\u2019s response for their own public-relations purposes. The Court has not only the power but also the responsibility to step in,\u201d the judge said. The court order said Baldoni\u2019s team had abused the court\u2019s docket.<\/p>\n

The judge ordered several filings to be sealed and granted Lively\u2019s motion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As Us<\/em> previously reported, Lively was deposed by Baldoni\u2019s team on July 31. Baldoni was in the room during questioning by his legal team.<\/p>\n
