An emergence from her shell was foreshadowed: Listeners could find jubilant synths, assertively strummed guitars, and toe-tapping tempos on 2021\u2019s \u201cMess It Up\u201d and in pockets of her debut album \u2018Good Riddance.\u2019 This is an artist who once considered songwriting and singing a \u201cprivate practice.\u201d During our Extended Play short film, the LA native reflects on how her withdrawn vocal style stemmed from a desire \u201cnot to be heard\u201d while practicing and writing in her bedroom. These days, Gracie\u2019s getting heard a lot. \u2018The Secret of Us\u2019 debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. And this will be two autumns in a row that she\u2019s opening for Taylor Swift.
