Those include the Cherokee Film Commission, Cherokee Film Productions, Cherokee Film Studios and Cherokee Film Institute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cherokee Film was\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cherokeephoenix.org\/entertainment\/cherokee-nation-businesses-launches-cherokee-film\/article_881658d8-41ea-11ee-a2ae-d7f7291b0053.html\">launched in 2023<\/a>\u00a0to expand and reorganize its filmmaking ecosystem, aimed at creating better representation and building on the tribe\u2019s efforts to become a film and media productions hub.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Loren added that at the Cherokee National Holiday, Cherokee Film is present in the community for people who want more information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really here to just answer questions and be in the community, take pictures with people and that\u2019s it,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A focus of Cherokee Film at the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thecherokeeholiday.com\/\">Cherokee National Holiday<\/a>\u00a0will be to provide information about the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cherokeephoenix.org\/entertainment\/cn-launches-cherokee-film-institute\/article_c3580fcc-6ee9-11ef-974c-030e3c1275a1.html\">Cherokee Film Institute<\/a>, launched in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The institute is a tribally-operated film school that recently graduated its first cohort of 28 students who earned program certificates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re getting information out there about what the institute is, who can apply, when, how people enroll, when it happens, what classes there are and then (answer) any other questions,\u201d Loren said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The institute has students taking introductory courses to the filming industry such as Intro to Industry, Intro to Production Office, Intro to Location Management and Intro to Camera Basics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are essentially teaching the basics of what you need to know to get into the film industry,\u201d she said. \u201cIf we want to get more Native representation in the industry, then we have to train our Native Americans to be ready for that first job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The institute welcomes anyone over 18 years of age to apply.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In June, the tribe declared the Cherokee Nation reservation as\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cherokeephoenix.org\/entertainment\/tribal-officials-designate-cherokee-nation-reservation-as-film-ready\/article_3d7bce6c-d12f-4c0f-8ac6-e4d0727c82ca.html\">Film Ready<\/a>, which aims to attract more film and TV productions to the reservation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of communities and cities will designate themselves as film friendly.
