Pete Davidson<\/a> says he was experiencing big downer energy during \u201cSNL50.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The comedian was on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers<\/a><\/span>\u201d on Thursday, and during the \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a><\/span>\u201d alums\u2019 discussion, Davidson had a surprising complaint about participating in the legendary sketch show\u2019s 50th anniversary special in February. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Oodles of famous folks were in the studio audience for the event, including Blake Lively, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Miley Cyrus, Pedro Pascal and Tom Hanks. Although some \u201cSNL\u201d alums skipped the star-studded event for valid reasons<\/a>, plenty did show, like Tina Fey, Eddie Murphy and Martin Short. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Davidson was featured in two sketches during the special, one live and another pretaped.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s more nerve-wracking?\u201d Meyers asked Davidson of the two sketches he did. \u201cBeing on stage, or being in the audience [watching a pretaped sketch] while everybody\u2019s watching?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cAs you know from SNL<\/a>40 \u2014 terrible audience,\u201d Davidson told Meyers, who agreed. \u201cIt\u2019s a terrible audience \u2019cause it\u2019s just famous people, and famous people only like themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Davidson, a celebrity himself, has dated a string of A-list stars, so some in Meyers\u2019 audience seemed a bit incredulous.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But the \u201cPickup\u201d star immediately included himself in his criticism.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s true,\u201d Davidson said. \u201cI\u2019m guilty of this!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

At this, Meyers chimed in: <\/span>\u201cI remember when the pretape was playing, you were the only one laughing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This prompted Davidson to burst out laughing and give the host a fist bump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWe were like, \u2018Oh, he\u2019s coming in way too hot,\u2019\u201d Meyers recalled of everyone\u2019s reaction to Davidson\u2019s delight in watching himself during the special.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
