Homeland Security<\/span><\/a> Secretary <\/span>Kristi Noem<\/span><\/a> wasn\u2019t happy about the way she was portrayed on \u201c<\/span>South Park<\/span><\/a>\u201d this week, but that didn\u2019t stop her from using an image from the show to boost ICE<\/a> recruitment on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Thursday, Noem griped<\/a> about the portrayal to right-wing pundit Glenn Beck, saying that making fun of her looks was just \u201cso lazy\u201d and a sign of the show\u2019s inability to criticize her work (although it did that, too).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But what a difference a day makes \u2014 because on Friday, Noem decided to use a decidedly more flattering image from the show to get people to join Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Noem seemed to be borrowing the approach of JD Vance<\/a> and Charlie Kirk<\/a>, among others, who have acted like insulting portrayals of them on \u201cSouth Park\u201d are actually positive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Department of Homeland Security used another image<\/a> from \u201cSouth Park\u201d in an ICE recruitment post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Whether the tactic will work or not is anyone\u2019s guess, but Noem\u2019s post did inspire social media snark.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
