Macaulay Culkin<\/a> has revealed that he has a favourite Home Alone<\/a> film.<\/p>\n The former child star<\/a> shot to fame after starring in the first two movies from the Nineties franchise: Home Alone<\/a> (1990) and Home Alone 2<\/a>: Lost in New York (1992).<\/p>\n Fans often debate over which is the superior movie. In the original, directed by Chris Columbus<\/a>, Culkin\u2019s character Kevin McCallister is accidentally left behind by his family when they go away for the Christmas holidays.<\/p>\n In the second film<\/a>, set one year after the events of the first, Kevin loses his family at the airport as they rush to catch their flight to Florida, accidentally boarding a plane to New York City instead.<\/p>\n Appearing on the show Hot Ones<\/a>, in which celebrities answer questions from host Sean Evens while eating spicy chicken wings, Culkin was asked what makes the second film better than the first.<\/p>\n \u201cI got paid more,\u201d Culkin, now 44, responded.<\/p>\n Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 2 (YouTube\/20th Century Fox)<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI think I own five per cent of the net [gross] and also 15 per cent of the merchandising,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cSo if you buy a Talkboy, I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019ll take 15 per cent of that, thank you very much!\u201d<\/p>\n Culkin jokingly encouraged viewers to buy a Talkboy \u2013 the handheld voice recorder that was invented and designed especially for Home Alone \u2013 for Christmas.<\/p>\n During the show, Evans asked Culkin if he\u2019d asked his younger brother, Succession star Kieran Culkin<\/a>, for any advice before taking part.<\/p>\n Macaulay Culkin on ‘Hot Ones’ (YouTube\/First We Feast)<\/p>\n Kieran \u2013 who had a supporting role in the first two Home Alone films<\/a> as Kevin\u2019s younger cousin, Fuller \u2013 successfully made it through to the spiciest wing in the challenge back in 2023, despite calling the idea of the challenge \u201csuper scary\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, I actually did not, because I kind of wanted to fly a little bit blind,\u201d Macaulay responded. \u201cI\u2019m proud to hear that he took it all the way to the end.\u201d<\/p>\n He quipped: \u201cI\u2019m generally proud of him, because between me and him we have exactly one Oscar.\u201d<\/p>\n Macaulay\u2019s younger brother Kieran won an Oscar for his performance in \u2018A Real Pain\u2019<\/p>\n Kieran won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor at this year\u2019s ceremony<\/a>, having dominated awards season thanks to his performance in Jesse Eisenberg\u2019s film, A Real Pain<\/a>.<\/p>\n After starring in the Home Alone films, Macaulay established himself as one of the most successful child actors of the Nineties, but temporarily retired from acting after starring in the 1994 film Richie Rich.<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
