Online<\/a><\/p>\n Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/strong><\/a> didn\u2019t say she\u2019d never slay another vampire.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>actress was back at it again <\/span>Aug. 7, reprising<\/span> her role as the iconic Buffy Summers in the new <\/span>Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/span><\/em><\/a> reboot for Hulu.<\/span><\/p>\n As seen in photos taken from the series\u2019 Los Angeles set, Sarah wore <\/span>a long-sleeved red mini dress, which she paired with red stilettos. The 48-year-old was carrying a coffee as her signature blonde hair flowed around her.<\/span><\/p>\n The photo offers the first time fans have seen Sarah back in character as Buffy since the original show ended its seven season run in 2003. And despite countless rumors of reboots over the years, Sarah\u2014who shares<\/span> kids <\/span>Charlotte<\/strong>, 15, and <\/span>Rocky<\/strong>, 12<\/span><\/a>, with husband <\/span>Freddie Prinze Jr.<\/strong><\/a>\u2014didn\u2019t feel ready to officially return to the character until <\/span>Oscar<\/span>-winning director<\/span> Chlo\u00e9 Zhao<\/strong><\/a> came on board.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFor so many years, I said no to a possible return of the series,\u201d she shared with <\/span>Vanity Fair<\/span><\/em><\/a> in June. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to reintroduce something we had already seen. I waited for the right time to come. Then Chlo\u00e9, a big <\/span>Buffy<\/span><\/em> fan, proposed the project to me, and I accepted.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Cruel Intentions<\/span><\/em> actress revealed that they spent three years getting the project ready, adding that the reboot would \u201cbe lighter than the last few seasons of the original.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe will try to find a balance between new and old characters,\u201d Sarah continued. \u201cMy dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space will have to be made for new stories as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n More from E!
