But Springsteen\u2019s recent onstage comments in Manchester, England, about <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/donald-trump\/\" id=\"auto-tag_donald-trump\" data-tag=\"donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> \u2014 calling the administration \u201ccorrupt, incompetent, and treasonous\u201d \u2014\u00a0and the increasingly authoritarian state of America have drawn the president\u2019s ire. Trump even <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-features\/trump-bruce-springsteen-threat-investigate-election-law-1235343852\/\">threatened<\/a> a \u201cmajor investigation\u201d into Springsteen for his endorsement of Kamala Harris. In light of Trump\u2019s attacks, a slew of musicians have publicly reaffirmed their support for the New Jersey legend. Here\u2019s a rundown of a list that will surely continue to grow.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"pearl-jam\" class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-primary-l   \">\n\t\tPearl Jam\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSpringsteen\u2019s brand of tradition-soaked rock &amp; roll may have seemed the antithesis of punk and its offspring grunge when <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/pearl-jam\/\" id=\"auto-tag_pearl-jam\" data-tag=\"pearl-jam\">Pearl Jam<\/a> launched in 1990. But any notion of an oil-and-water chemistry  dissipated as early as 2004, when Eddie Vedder appeared onstage during a Springsteen and E Street Band show for a version of \u201cBetter Man.\u201d A decade later, the two teamed up for a cover of AC\/DC\u2019s \u201cHighway to Hell\u201d during a Springsteen show in Australia.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;Eddie Denounces Trump&#039;s Policies &amp; Backs Springsteen &amp; Rockin&quot; Pearl Jam@Pittsburgh 5\/18\/25\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uxZIVAkrq0Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDuring Pearl Jam\u2019s May 16 show in Pittsburgh, Vedder showed where he stood in the Bruce-vs.-Trump war by playing a version of Springsteen\u2019s \u201cMy City of Ruins.\u201d Two days later, at the same venue, Vedder made his feelings even more evident, repeating some of Springsteen\u2019s litany of Trump disruptions and Springsteen\u2019s retorts (\u201cThat\u2019s happening,\u201d \u201cThat is also happening\u201d). He continued, \u201cPart of free speech is open discussion. Part of democracy is healthy public discourse. The name-calling is so beneath us. Bruce has always been as pro-American with his values and liberty, and his justice has always remained intact. And I\u2019m saying this now to be sure this freedom to speak will still exist in a year or two when we come back to this microphone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn case no one got the message even then, Vedder posted a photo on social media wearing a \u201cUnited States vs. Bruce Springsteen\u201d baseball cap.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"section-heading\" class=\"c-heading larva  lrv-u-text-align-center u-border-color-black a-font-theme-primary-xxs lrv-u-color-black lrv-u-text-transform-uppercase u-letter-spacing-0063 lrv-u-padding-t-050 u-padding-b-0375@tablet lrv-u-padding-b-050@mobile-max lrv-u-border-b-2\">\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"robert-plant\" class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-primary-l   \">\n\t\tRobert Plant\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe same night Vedder spoke out in solidarity with Springsteen, the former Led Zeppelin frontman did something similar during a performance with his band Saving Grace at a show in Finland. \u201cRight now in England, which is where we come from \u2014 not quite the land of the ice and snow \u2014 Bruce Springsteen is touring right now in the U.K., and he\u2019s putting out some really serious stuff,\u201d Plant told the crowd. \u201cSo tune in to him.\u201d Addressing tensions between the U.K. and the U.S., Plant said, \u201cLet\u2019s all hope that we can be \u2026\u201d before going into a version of his former band\u2019s \u201cFriends.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"neil-young\" class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-primary-l   \">\n\t\tNeil Young\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Springsteen-Young mutual appreciation society dates back to at least the mid-Eighties, when Young, along with Crosby, Stills &amp; Nash, took part in the first of Young and his then-wife Pegi\u2019s Bridge School benefit shows in California. Since then, they\u2019ve shared a stage more than a few times, playing Young\u2019s \u201cRockin\u2019 in the Free World\u201d and \u201cDown by the River.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAddressing Trump directly, Young <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/neilyoungarchives.com\/news\/1\/article?id=TRUMP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">posted<\/a> on his website on May 19: \u201cBruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin\u2019 kids in Gaza. That\u2019s your problem. I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That\u2019s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made. Taylor Swift is right. So is Bruce. You know how I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIt\u2019s not the first time Young has gone after Trump: In 2020, he posted an open letter to the then first-time president, calling him \u201ca disgrace to my country\u201d and demanding Trump stop using \u201cRockin\u2019 in the Free World\u201d at rallies. At the Punk Rock Bowling Festival in Las Vegas on May 26, Ness made his admiration for Springsteen even more apparent, talking about how \u201cfreedoms being taken away from us\u201d and adding, \u201cI\u2019m good friends with Bruce Springsteen\u2026.
