Noah Wyle Addresses if More ‘ER’ Stars Will Join the Cast of ‘The Pitt’<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Since the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt <\/em>premiered in early 2025, fans have been wondering if more ER<\/em> alums will film for the series.<\/p>\n While speaking to Variety<\/a> in August 2025, Noah Wyle<\/a><\/strong>, who is an executive producer and star on The Pitt<\/em>, said it’s possible his former ER <\/em>castmates could film for future episodes of the series, which takes place in a Pittsburgh hospital, as reported by TV Insider.<\/a> Wyle said he’d “never say never” to reuniting with his ER<\/em> co-stars while filming The Pitt<\/em>. However, the actor does worry that it could be distracting for audiences.<\/p>\n \u201cThe success of this show has brought to our awareness that there\u2019s some really high-profile actors that would love to come on our show, and it\u2019s super tempting to want to go after them, but you run the risk of it being a little distracting,\u201d\u00a0said Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch in The Pitt<\/em>.<\/p>\n He also said that he trusted The Pitt<\/em>‘s casting director, Cathy Sandrich, with deciding which actors are best suited for the series.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the great things about Cathy Sandrich, our casting director, is she brings in these people that you may know that work, but you don\u2019t necessarily bring their intended baggage to the role that they\u2019re playing for us; you\u2019re able to believe them totally in the situation that we\u2019re presenting,” said Wyle during the Variety interview. “I feel like that\u2019s a model that\u2019s worth playing out as long as we can. [But] if there\u2019s a role that requires somebody that has some real gravitas, that requires bringing somebody that would have a frame of reference, that\u2019s really when it\u2019s fun to bring those people in.\u201d<\/p>\n Several well-known actors starred on ER<\/em>, such as George Clooney<\/a><\/strong>, Anthony Edwards<\/strong>, and Julianna Margulies<\/strong>, during the NBC show’s run from 1994 to 2009. TV Insider also reported that the creator and showrunner of The Pitt<\/em>, R. Scott, was an ER<\/em> writer and producer.<\/p>\n In a March 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight<\/a>, Wyle, who played Dr. John Carter in ER, said he has remained close to Clooney. In addition, he suggested he would be interested in working with Clooney, who portrayed the ER <\/em>character, Dr. Doug Ross, again.<\/p>\n “The chance to work together is something we always look forward to,” said Wyle during the Entertainment Tonight interview.<\/p>\n During a June 2025 interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers<\/a><\/em>, Clooney congratulated Wyle, whom he described as a close friend, for the success of The Pitt<\/em>.<\/p>\n “I cannot be happier for his success on the show. The show is just a beautiful show. And he does just a great job with it,” said Clooney.<\/p>\n
