It\u2019s a long-overdue return for the US folk-rock favourites, who last played Aussie and Kiwi stages back in 2022.<\/p>\n \n\tThe upcoming dates are part of the band\u2019s huge Automatic world tour, which has already seen them play to massive crowds across North America and Mexico, with another 29 shows locked in before they even touch down here. And there\u2019s extra cause for celebration \u2014 the 2026 run will also mark The Lumineers\u2019 20th anniversary. Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites first formed the project in New Jersey back in 2005, slowly building their reputation before breaking out in a big way in 2012.<\/p>\n \n\tTheir self-titled debut album lit the fuse for the indie-folk explosion of the early 2010s, landing alongside names like Mumford & Sons and Of Monsters and Men. Featuring their now-classic hit \u201cHo Hey,\u201d the album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, went triple-platinum in Canada, platinum in the UK and Ireland, and gold here in Australia.<\/p>\n \n\tSince then, The Lumineers have chalked up more than 6 billion streams across five albums, scored two Grammy nominations, earned five Billboard Music Award nods, and picked up an American Music Award nomination. Their latest record, Automatic<\/a><\/em>, is their first in three years and debuted in the top 10 of multiple\u00a0Billboard\u00a0charts dated March 1, paced by its No. 2 start on the\u00a0Top Rock Albums<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Americana\/Folk Albums<\/a>\u00a0tallies in July.<\/p>\n \n\tIts lead single \u201cSame Old Song\u201d topped Billboard\u2019s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, further cementing their place as one of the genre\u2019s most reliable hitmakers.
