Fans of 1980s music icon Midge Ure are sending prayers after he announced on social media this week the postponement of his tour as he addresses \u201ca health issue that requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ure said the issue was discovered during a \u201crecent routine check-up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI know many of you travel great distances, often across borders to attend the show, and I never take that support for granted,\u201d he wrote.<\/b><\/a> <\/b>\u201cI\u2019m truly sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes to your plans.<\/p>\n \u201cI remain fully committed to performing all shows currently scheduled for this month and I\u2019m looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I\u2019m able,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n Ure said he was postponing the tour \u201cfrom September onwards,\u201d but he does plan to be back on the road at some poiknt.<\/p>\n \u201cLet me reassure you that the A Man of Two Worlds tour is very much going ahead,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u2019m aiming to be back on the road again as soon as possible and looking forward to sharing this music with you all. <\/p>\n \u201cMy team and I are working closely with promoters to reschedule the affected dates, and we\u2019ll share updates on my Facebook page as soon as we have them,\u201d he continued. \u201cI kindly ask that you respect the privacy of myself and my family during this difficult time. <\/p>\n \u201cThank you, as always, for your understanding, patience, and unwavering support. It truly means a great deal.\u201d<\/p>\n Ure, 71, has bene performing since 1969, and is known for his time as the frontman for Ultravox.
