Jennifer Aniston<\/strong> <\/a>made a rare reference to the aftermath of her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 which included his new love Angelina Jolie<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a Monday, August 11, profile with Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a>, Aniston, 56, referred to that era of her headline-making life \u201cthe love triangle.\u201d Aniston noted that her approach to pushing through that time was to \u201cjust pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking, girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was such juicy reading for people. If they didn\u2019t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids,\u201d Aniston said, before adding of the media madness, \u201cIt\u2019s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were sort of building us up and then tearing you down,\u201d she continued, comparing herself to a pi\u00f1ata.<\/p>\n

After her remark, the outlet noted that Aniston put her hands over her eyes and wondered whether she just quoted a line from her The Morning Show<\/em> character<\/a>, news anchor Alex Levy.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh God, did I just quote The Morning Show<\/em>?\u201d she said, before adding, \u201cI didn\u2019t have a strong enough constitution to not get affected by it. We\u2019re human beings, even though some people don\u2019t want to believe we are. They think, \u2018You signed up for it, so you take it.\u2019 But we really didn\u2019t sign up for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt, now 61, and Aniston began their relationship<\/a> in 1998, after they were set up by their agents. The next year, Pitt proposed and the couple tied the knot in 2000. Five years later, Pitt and Aniston were divorced.<\/p>\n

While Pitt was still married to Aniston, he met Jolie, now 50, on set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.<\/em> Pitt and Jolie subsequently began dating, getting engaged in 2012. The pair tied the knot two years later and went on to share six children before she filed for divorce in 2016. Their messy divorce battle was finalized in 2024.<\/p>\n
