But just like she\u2019s shifted away from their TV character, the real-life actor is now changing their name for a new career shift and taking on the identity of Frances Anderson. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cFrances is actually part of my legal name\u2014it\u2019s my middle name, and it\u2019s after my mom\u2019s old family friend,\u201d Anderson-Emmons told E! News<\/a> last week. \u201cI thought, one, it was a bit shorter than \u2018Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.\u2019 I do have a long, hyphenated last name.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added that she also just \u201cwanted to switch it up and I wanted people to see a new side of me.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAnd I wanted to create a space specifically just for music,\u201d the 18-year-old explained. \u201cAnd I\u2019m so excited for everybody to hear the songs on the EP, and I\u2019m so grateful.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Anderson\u2019s first EP, called \u201cDrown,\u201d was released<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI started acting at four and worked pretty consistently until I was twelve,\u201d she shared in an article, published last week. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a violent entrance into the industry \u2014 it was honestly fine. But when you\u2019re a kid, you don\u2019t really choose that path,\u201d Anderson added. \u201cYou don\u2019t have a lot of autonomy or self-discipline yet, and you\u2019re surrounded by adults. That can be isolating. No kids my age on set. No friends.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While the teenager said that \u201cacting taught me professionalism,\u201d she added that \u201cmusic gave me community.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
