Abrams<\/a><\/strong>‘sStar Trek<\/em><\/a>film franchise, is addressing famed director, Quentin Tarantino<\/a><\/strong>‘s proposed plan for an unmade Star Trek <\/em>project.<\/p>\n Collider<\/a> reported that Pegg commented on Tarantino’s Star Trek<\/em> script during the August 2025 Fan Expo in Boston. Pegg stated that while he didn’t get the chance to look at Tarantino’s script, Abrams, and Star Trek <\/em>producer, Lindsey Weber<\/strong>, filled him in. According to Pegg, Tarantino’s fans wouldn’t be surprised by his alleged vision for Star Trek<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201c<\/strong>That was what we call in the business bats–t crazy. It was everything you would expect a Quentin Tarantino\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0script to be,” said Pegg during the Fan Expo panel.<\/p>\n Pegg also suggested he believed Star Trek <\/em>fans wouldn’t have loved the unmade Tarantino project.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it would have been such an incredible sort of curio to see\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0through his lens. I don\u2019t know how it would have gone over with the fans, but it certainly would have been an interesting thing,” said Pegg to the Fan Expo audience.<\/p>\n According to Collider, reports of a Tarantino Star Trek <\/em>project began circulating in 2017. Tarantino hinted at the possibility of him working on a Star Trek <\/em>project in a 2019 interview on CinemaBlend<\/a>‘s ReelBlend <\/em>podcast. He noted that he has long said he would only make 10 movies in his career before retiring. Tarantino’s latest and ninth film was the 2019 movie, Once Upon a Time\u2026in Hollywood<\/em>. While recording the ReelBlend <\/em>podcast episode, he said he could have “a loophole” to take on directing more films if it wasn’t his original idea, like Star Trek<\/em>.<\/p>\n “I guess I do have a loophole, [if] the idea was to throw a loophole into it. Which would be [to go], \u2018Uhhh, I guess Star Trek<\/em> doesn’t count. I can do Star Trek<\/em> \u2026 but naturally I would end on an original,'” said the director. “But the idea of doing 10 isn’t to come up with a loophole. I actually think, if I was going to do Star Trek<\/em>, I should commit to it. It’s my last movie. There should be nothing left handed about it. I don’t know if I’m going to do that, but that might happen.”<\/p>\n Tarantino gave an update about his proposed Star Trek<\/em> project in an August 2024 interview on the Club Random with Bill Maher<\/a><\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n “It’s never going to happen,” said Tarantino during the podcast interview.<\/p>\n He also said reports have been inaccurate about his proposed Star Trek<\/em> script.<\/p>\n “There’s been so much misinformation about what it was going to be.
