Jennifer Aniston at last year’s Emmys via Associated Press<\/span><\/p>\n Jennifer Aniston<\/span> has revealed how one of her big-screen roles allowed her to blow off some steam after her very public split from her first husband Brad Pitt<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n The former Friends<\/span> star and Oscar winner were married for five years until they divorced in 2005, and he began dating his former co-star Angelina Jolie<\/span> shortly afterwards.<\/span><\/p>\n Around this time, Jen appeared alongside Vince Vaughn<\/span> in the romantic comedy The Break-Up, with the two playing a married couple going through a very heated split.<\/span><\/p>\n Revisiting the movie as part of a video interview with Vanity Fair<\/a>, the Emmy winner recalled: \u201cThis was so much fun. We had one of the best summers shooting this movie.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Explaining how many scenes came out of improvised moments between herself and Vince, she continued: \u201cIt also allowed for a lot of real conversations that a lot of couples have, which I think is why it hit home for so many people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston in The Break-Up Moviestore\/Shutterstock<\/span><\/p>\n Jen then quipped: \u201cI might have just gone through a separation \u2013 that little separation I\u2019m sure nobody remembers \u2013 so it was kind of cathartic to go right from that [into this film].<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen they came to me with the offer, they were a little nervous about making the offer, because they thought, \u2018is that insensitive? Is that inappropriate?\u2019. But I actually thought, \u2018what a great opportunity\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI knew it would actually benefit me emotionally, just as a human being, and also serve the script and the character pretty well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In her accompanying interview in Vanity Fair magazine<\/a>, Jennifer also spoke about her previous cover shoot for the US outlet, which was her first interview since her split from Brad two decades ago.<\/p>\n She admitted: \u201c<\/span>I haven\u2019t looked at that article in forever. I just remember the experience of doing it \u2013 which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cJournalism back then felt more like a form of a sport. There\u2019s obviously some PTSD we all have, which is why [interviews still] scare me. \u2018How are they going to misinterpret my words or take something out of context?\u2019 And one line nowadays [can be taken out of context].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston in the early years of their marriage via Associated Press<\/span><\/p>\n Asked whether she and her close friend Gwyneth Paltrow<\/span> ever trade stories about their shared ex, Brad Pitt, Jen remarked: \u201c<\/span>Oh, of course.
