Is Deadpool joining the Avengers? Ryan Reynolds posted a cryptic image on Instagram last night that suggests his foul-mouthed character may be teaming up with Earth\u2019s mightiest heroes in the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> or Avengers: Secret Wars<\/em>.<\/p>\n Reynolds shared a photo of the Avengers black and white logo, which has been covered with a red spray-painted \u201cA\u201d that appears to be the work of Deadpool. Fans were quick to jump on the potential crossover, with many commenting about their excitement.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Marvel revealed<\/a> the enormous cast of Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> in a livestream in March. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo<\/a>\u00a0had previously heralded the return of the franchise\u2019s beloved actor,\u00a0Robert Downey Jr., during an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024. Downey Jr. will play villain Doctor Doom (despite his longtime character Iron Man dying in\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/em>), who recently popped up in the post-credits scene in Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/em>.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Reynolds shot down speculation that Deadpool would be part of an Avengers film. \u201cIf Deadpool becomes an Avenger or an X-Man, we\u2019re at the end,\u201d the actor told\u00a0Time<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThat\u2019s wish fulfillment, and you can\u2019t give him that.\u201d He added, \u201cI\u2019m writing a little something right now, that\u2019s, I don\u2019t know, it\u2019s an ensemble. But, I like that [Deadpool] is isolated.\u201d<\/p>\n Deadpool last appeared onscreen in 2024\u2019s Deadpool & Wolverine<\/a><\/em>, which reunited Reynolds\u2019 beloved character with Hugh Jackman\u2019s Wolverine.
